It has been too long BUT ITS TOO DAMN COLD to whirl metal around.
NEW YEARS REVOLUTION- One was to start yoga so I can become suitably supple for martial arts. Not to mention the health benefits, wellbeing, flexibility ;) Better late than never. Been doing a couple of these a day to start with considering my spine appears to have a vertical plank of wood nailed to the base of it. Still can’t touch my toes but its got a little easier to bend in half.
Today I learned that a giant waterlily can support the weight of a baby. This is because the underneath of the lily is covered in veins which trap air between them and create little air pockets for the lily to float on :)
When I have a kid, it is definitely getting a picture on a giant waterlily.
All I asked for for Christmas besides DVDs was travel books…some of which are AMAZING. I’ve got a parchment stylee world map above my bed and have become addicted to Lonely Planet.
Why the hell would you want to waste time in a tie with a briefcase in Grey England when there’s so much magic to see and experience everywhere…
I think Blood Diamond has to be my favourite film of all fucking time. Everything about it is beautiful, powerful and moving- the acting, the set, the narrative, the soundtrack…it is a masterpiece with a message. Not to mention how hot Leonardo Dicaprio is as a South African.
This is the film that solidified my want to become a travelling photojournalist. If you haven’t seen it, GO AND BUY IT ON DVD.
It caused controversy for not being 100& factually accurate, but it still does the job of conveying several social and political messages to an audience without being preachy- a task I think I lot of people don’t understand the difficulty of doing until they’re making a film.

2012- Year of The Dragon
In Eastern culture the dragon is a symbol of good fortune and is usually shown clutching a pearl to symbolize its supernatural power. It is larger than life and it’s appearance mean big things are to come. It is a flowing river as opposed to a stagnant lake meaning things will happen quickly and earlier. The dragon marks perseverance, progression and unpredictable events.
2012 is predominantly a water year in terms of elements- this could mean riches ad prosperity or natural disasters including flooding and earthquakes. Earth elements prosper from water and so will have the opportunity to make money in 2012.
It’s impossible to watch this video and not feel something. I think this is the best and most beautiful speech that has ever and will ever be made. It’s sad that even though it was released in 1940, the words are still truer than ever today. Let’s hope we can get the message across to more and more people before it’s too late.
